A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop Back in Plaid

Welcome to our fabulous A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! Every month I receive a surprise card/project kit from Stampin' Up!. I love this Christmas themed kit!

I got to see this kit at our OnStage event in Salt Lake City and loved it from the beginning!  I have two kits and can't wait to make them soon!  It was fun to come up with an alternate card & project this month.

All the details for my card and my project are below.  I have put an asterisks next to items that were in addition to the Paper Pumpkin kit.

Details for the card:

  • *Dapper Denim Card Base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4"
  • *Whisper White cardstock 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" x 2
    • Inside - stamped with snowflakes in Dapper Denim ink.
    • Front - scrunched up some of the stocking material to create a surface to ink up. This was dipped in *Marina Mist ink.  The tip is to use a little bit from the ink refill.  I applied the stocking material to the ink pad and it left little pieces on the ink pad that I had to clean off.  Blot the stocking material on your card front to create a cool background.  I then stamped with snowflakes in Dapper Denim ink.
  • From the kit I took one of the gold foil snowflakes banner and stamped the joy sentiment on it in Dapper Denim ink.  This banner is popped with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Details for the project:
  •  *Dapper Denim cardstock traced from the kit banners and stamped with snowflakes in Dapper Denim ink.
  • For the letters I cut apart the stocking and cut off the seams to make a flat stocking material.  I used the *Large Letter Framelits and my Big Shot.  They are attached to the banners with glue dots.
  • The project is finished off with 16" of the red twine from the kit and the clothespins.

I hope you enjoyed my card and project.  Thanks for visiting!

OSAT Blog Hop - Winter Holiday

Happy November and welcome to another OSAT Blog Hop!  The theme for this month is Winter Holiday!

I absolutely love the Hearts Come Home stamp set & Hometown Greeting Edgelits are one of my favorites from the Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog!

To me it's easiest to share the details on the card and project with a list of each element. Here's all the card details:
  • Card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock (4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2").
  • Next layer is Night of Navy card stock (5 1/4" x 4") and ran through the Big Shot using the Softly Falling embossing folder.  It was adhered to the card base with snail adhesive.
  • The village layers from the Hometown Greetings Edgelits are cut out of Whisper White cardstock and silver foil 4" wide.
  • They are adhered using Tombow glue.
  • The sentiment is from the Hearts Come Home stamp set and stamped in Night of Navy.

For the coordinating project I have loved making various scenes with these Edgelits!  This time I used some lights, fake snow, and canning jar to make this super cute AND easy project!
  • The Hometown Greetings Edgelits are used to cut out the scene around the jar out of Night of Navy cardstock (3 1/2" x 11").
  • Wink of Stella embellished the village scene and then was adhered to the jar using glue dots!
  • For the top of the jar I used a Night of Navy circle cut out with the Layering Circle Framelits and also the stars from the Hometown Greetings Edgelits.  It fits within the jar lid perfectly!
  • The inside of the jar has fake snow from any big box store and LED lights.  These lights I found on Amazon here: http://a.co/9aIqDho

I hope you have enjoyed my card & project!  Your next stop in the hop is from Sue!  Enjoy the hop!

ICS Blog Hop - Painted Harvest

Woo Hoo it's the first Wednesday of the month you know what that means RIGHT? ICS Blog hop time! Our theme this month of November is Fall for All!  November is all about being thankful, so I thought I would incorporate it into my card.

I am very, very thankful for Stampin' Up! in my life including my demonstrator friends and customers.  I need some thank yous so I created about 15 of these!  Enjoy my card!

This Painted Harvest set is one of my most favorite in our Holiday Catalog!!  The card base is a 4 1/4" square with a 4" DSP layer from the gorgeous Painted Autumn paper.  The sunflower is a combination of Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and a middle of Early Espresso stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out by hand.  The leaves are garden green and cutout with the awesome leaf punch.  The sentiment is on a Stitched Framelits square and embellished with a little gold metallic thread.   I had to add a little bit of the DSP on the inside as well.

I hope you enjoyed my card!  The next stop in our blog hop is Anastasia!
