Sprinkles of Life Cards

My August stamp class featured the Sprinkles of Life stamp set by Stampin' Up!  Each participant that came to the class made 2 of each of these cards.  Here they are.....

The ice cream card as I am calling it is great for any occasions like birthdays!!  Here are the details I wrote up for the class:

Stamp sentiment in Crumb Cake on large Whisper White piece.
Stamp ice cream cone in So Saffron on So Saffron cardstock.
Stamp ice cream in Crumb Cake ink on Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo, and Whisper White cardstock pieces.
Cut out with scissors the ice cream cone.
Punch all 3 of the ice creams out with Tree Builder bunch.
Punch from Real Red cardstock the cherry (apple) from the Tree Builder Punch.
Adhere cone to large Whisper White piece.
Adhere 3 ice creams with dimensionals.
Adhere with snail the cherry on ice cream.
Adhere large Whisper White to Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo, and then Crumb Cake card base all using snail.  Done!

The thankful card is one of my favorites right now and here are the details:

Stamp Hardwood in Early Espresso on Soft Suede. Hint – use bone folder to make sure it stamps completely and wrap your grid paper around.
Stamp tree in Early Espresso on Whisper White.
Use Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Tangerine Tango markers to color leaves & pile of leaves to stamp on Whisper White.
Stamp sentiment on small Whisper White.  Punch out with Washi Label punch.
Sponge Early Espressso around tree piece and sentiment.
Adhere 2 pearls to sentiment.
Adhere with snail the Whisper White tree piece to Pumpkin Pie.
Adhere with dimensionals the sentiment to Whisper White tree piece.
Adhere all these pieces now put together to Hardwood Soft Suede using dimensionals.
Adhere using snail everything to Whisper White Thick cardstock.  Done!

SIP #10 Inspiration Challenge

I decided to try out the SIP (Stamp, Ink, Paper) Inspiration challenge http://stampinkpaper.com/2015/08/sip-challenge-10-inspiration/ this week.  There are lots of very talented card designers in their group!

http://stampinkpaper.com/2015/08/sip-challenge-10-inspiration/
I love, love, love Ball jars whether it is for decorating or canning!  I thought I would take this inspiration more literally as I have an awesome old stamp set with Ball jars and additional stamps.  Here's what I came up with (thanks to One Stamp at a Time fellow admin, Lisa Altman, for my new "M".....

I decided from the inspiration photo to use Stampin' Up! inks....Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, and Smoky Slate!  There is an old Cannery set and matching framelits from Stampin' Up! that I used for the jars, stems, leaves, and flowers.  The sentiment is out of the For All Things set that I am so glad carried over from the holiday catalog into the annual catalog.  It's background is a small wood background piece out of the Choose Happiness set.  This was really a lot of fun to take part in this challenge and I would challenge you to make a card too!

More card details (Note....I used the Perfectly Preserved stamp set not the downloads it mentions below)......

OSAT Blog Hop - Back to School

one stamp at a time

Welcome to the One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop for August - Back to School!  I love this group of paper crafters that get to together for this hop every month!  If you haven't seen the previous blog hops by this group I would encourage to go back and check them out.  I hope you enjoyed the marvelous projects in the previous blog.

I cannot believe it is already back to school time!  In our area the kids actually go back to school today.  We don't have any kids in our house, so my niece & nephew going back to school inspired me this month.  I decided to make a card & project that could be used by a teacher, to give to a teacher, or even at home.

school card & large clothespin

The Stampin' Up! Whisper White craft ink was used to mimic chalk on a chalkboard on the card.  The letters are from the Larger Than Life Stampin' Up! stamp set.  They are my favorite letters to use for cards and banners.  The new & marvelous tree builder punch was used for the apples after stamping them from the new Stampin' Up! fundraising stamp set for Ronald McDonald House called Sprinkles of Life. The sentiment is from the Endless Thanks stamp set and fussy cut out to adhere to the card.  Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, and Daffodil Delight were the color scheme for both the card & large clothespin project.

Further detail of the apples in Real Red.

I have recently really had a fun time making these large clothespins.  You can find them at most any big box large craft store for just a few bucks.  They are simple to make with just a bit of mod podge to adhere the paper to the wooden clothespin.  I then put a layer of the mod podge over the paper, let it dry, and repeated to have three layers.  My idea was to make one for each of the kids in a classroom, home, etc. as these can be personalized with the Stampin' Up! alphabet rotary stamp.  These can be used to display a school photo of the child.  Enjoy my college graduation photo!  :)

I hope you have enjoyed my back to school card & project!  I hope you have fun continuing through the rest of the blogs on our hop!  The next one up is my friend, Tina

Fantastic Overhead Camera Mount!!

DIY videos have gotten more & more popular especially in the area of card making!  They have become so popular and good for business that Stampin' Up! did a class about making videos at our demonstrator convention last month.  They shared a super easy & inexpensive camera mount of smart phones.  Here is the photo of the one I came home and made in maybe one hour including cutting the pipe and assembly!

overhead camera mount

The phone mount I got on Amazon for two for like $6.  The fabulous Katie & Benjamin from Stampin' Up! taught the class at convention.  Katie shared the details of it on our blog as well:  http://thecraftyblogstalker.com/diy-overhead-camera-mount/

Enjoy making yours & happy stamping!!

Part 2 of 5 - My Swaps for Inspire. Create. Share. 2015

I've decided to share each of the five card front swaps I made for the North American Inspire. Create. Share. 2015 (Stampin' Up! demonstrator convention).  This post is part two of this series.  This card front again used the Gift from the Garden stamp set as I am an avid gardener!

This card front in particular was made for a simple, but great organized swap.

friendship is the spice of life

I love the color combination of Pacific Point and Cucumber Crush that this card shows off.  One detail to point out is that the pots were stamped on a separate piece of paper, fuzzy cut, and adhered down.

Part 1 of 5 - My Swaps for Inspire. Create. Share. 2015

I've decided to share each of the five card front swaps I made for the North American Inspire. Create. Share. 2015 (Stampin' Up! demonstrator convention).  This post is part one of this series.

One of my main objectives with my swaps was to use a new stamp set that just came out in the new 2015-2016 annual catalog.  I decided on the Gift from the Garden stamp set as I am an avid gardener!

gift from the garden is a work of heart

This card front uses all the 2015-2017 in color inks and the Cucumber Crush & Tip Top Taupe cardstock.  The background is Typeset Speciality Designer Series Paper.  Sahara Sand lace trim can be found at the bottom of the sentiment.  The minor detail you might not catch is that I used the Decorative Label punch to make the border on the far right of the sentiment piece.

Come back tomorrow for the second card in this series!  Have a great day and happy stamping!
