ICS Blog Hop - Making Christmas Bright

Woo Hoo it's the first Wednesday of the month you know what that means RIGHT? ICS Blog hop time!  Our theme this month is Christmas Cards Galore since Christmas is coming up in just a few short weeks!

My inspiration for my card was this recent purchase (Disney Christmas light bulb necklace) for Mickey's Christmas party in Orlando that I attended while at our OnStage demonstrator convention.  Here I am at the party with Donald Duck and Scrooge!

The stamp set that I am using is the Making Christmas Bright set with coordinating light bulb punch.

I wanted to create a quick & easy but fun card!  The card base is Thick Whisper White 11" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2".  I used one of the line stamps from this set and stamped in Call Me Clover to create the strings.  Part of the sentiment is also stamped in Call Me Clover and the rest in Lovely Lipstick.  These are two of our newer in-colors that I absolutely love!  With the punch I was able to quickly punch out the bulbs from Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover, Lovely Lipstick, and Pineapple Punch card stock.  I also stamped these ink colors to show the bulb shining!   The bulbs are finished off by punching out the base out of of the galvanized metallic paper.  The lights are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals so they pop off the card!  This is going to be an easy card to replicate that is so much fun!

I hope you enjoyed my card!

ICS Blog Hop - Country Home

Woo Hoo it's the first Wednesday of the month you know what that means RIGHT? ICS Blog hop time!  I wasn't able to do the hop in September, so I'm super excited to be back this month of October.  How is it already October?!?!  Our theme this month is "Fall for All"!  I absolutely love the Country Home stamp set in the 2018 Holiday Catalog!!

This card starts off with a Blackberry Bliss card base (11" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2").  The copper foil (2" x 5 1/2") is embossed with the beautiful new Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF.  I can't get enough of this amazing embossing folder!  The flowers and jug are stamped in Memento Black ink since they are colored in with blends and watercolor pencils (for the white).  I found that the light Cajun Craze blend is the best color to use to give a copper color look.  I stamped the Thanks and circle after I was done coloring.  The Very Vanilla cardstock layer is 2 1/4" x 4 1/2" and matted with Cajun Craze 2 1/2" x 4 3/4".  These layer are popped from the card.  I found the copper foil layer is best attached to the card base using glue.

The inside has a Country Lane DSP layer 4" x 5 1/4".  In order to show off more of the DSP the Very Vanilla card stock layer (3 1/4" x 4 1/2") is a bit smaller than I would normally use.

I hope you enjoyed my card!

ICS Blog Hop - Varied Vases

Woo Hoo it's the first Wednesday of the month you know what that means RIGHT? ICS Blog hop time!  I wasn't able to do the hop in July, so I'm super excited to be back this month of August.  Our theme this month is the an awesome Color Challenge!

I am so excited to have both Blackberry Bliss and Coastal Cabana back in our main color collection!

It starts with the Flirty Flamingo card base (8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4").  The next card stock layer is Coastal Cabana (5 1/4" x 4") and stamped in Coastal Cabana using the "filler flowers" in the Varied Vases stamp set.  This layer is adhered to the base using snail adhesive.

The focal point is the background.  It is a piece of Shimmery Whisper White paper that is (4 3/4" x 3 1/2").  I started out with a larger piece, but decided to trim down.  I took my ink pads of Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana and dabbed them on a large E Block.  While I used my full size ink pads this time I would definitely recommend using ink spots.  Keeping the block flat so the colors don't run spritz a few times with water.  I have found that the water and ink goes everywhere when you do this, so be prepared to make a mess. :)  Then you flip the block over onto the Shimmery paper, press down, and let it stay there a few seconds.  You then peel the block off and I do this from top to bottom so when the extra ink/water flows it does so towards the dark part at the bottom.   It's best to then dab the excessive ink/water, and use the heat tool on low to finish drying very carefully.  I saw this technique done at a demonstrator training and absolutely love it because no two backgrounds are the same.

The vases are stamped on Whisper White card stock scraps in Blackberry Bliss,  cut out with the new Vases Builder Punch, and popped with dimensionals.    The flowers, shelf, and sentiment are also stamped in Blackberry Bliss on the Shimmery paper after it is all dry.  The sentiment is cutout by a 1" punch, adhered to a Coastal Cabana small scalloped circle (from the Layering Circles Framelits), and popped with dimensionals.  The whole piece is also popped from the Coastal Cabana layer with dimensionals to finish off the card.

I hope you enjoyed my card!

ICS Blog Hop - Love What You Do

Woo Hoo it's the first Wednesday of the month you know what that means RIGHT? ICS Blog hop time!  Our theme this month is the fabulous new 2018-2020 In-Colors!

I decided to create a simple notecard that really showcases each of the new In-Colors!

It starts with the Whisper White notecards and cardstock in the new In-Colors (4 3/4" x 3 1/4") embossed with the new Lovely Floral Dynamic TIEF.  This layer is adhered to the base using snail adhesive.  The Love What You Do sentiment is then stamped in the corresponding new In-Colors, and cut out with the Tailored Tag punch.  A few flowers from the same stamp set were added to finish off the sentiment piece.  The sentiment is popped with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I repeated each of these steps for each of the new In-Colors: Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, Blueberry Bushel, Grapefruit Grove, and Call Me Clover.

I hope you enjoyed my card!

ICS Blog Hop - Magical Day

Woo Hoo it's the first Wednesday of the month you know what that means RIGHT? ICS Blog hop time!  Our theme this month is It's a Guy Thing!  I love this Magical Day suite and I'm soooo sad to see it retiring, so you want to order it from your SU demonstrator soon!  I will definitely be keeping it for my own use.

The card starts with a Basic Gray card base of 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".  The next layer of Whisper White card stock is slightly normaler at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and is embossed with the Hexagons TIEF.  The strip of DSP is from the fabulous Myths & Magic Speciality DSP.  The knight (stamped in Memento Black) and the sentiment (Archival Basic Gray) are from the Magical Day suite.  Besides the knight I think my favorite part of this card is the silver foil also embossed in the Hexagons TIEF and cutout with the Best Badge punch.  The knight is cutout with the framelits in this set & then colored in Blends.  You can change up the color combination with the Blends.  My color scheme of the knight was inspired by the knights on the Myths & Magic Speciality DSP.  Lots of the layers are popped with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I couldn't forget the inside and added another cute knight inside.

I hope you enjoyed my card!

ICS Blog Hop - Tranquil Tulips

Woo Hoo it's the first Wednesday of the month you know what that means RIGHT? ICS Blog hop time!  Our theme this month is It's a Girl Thing!  My Mom was my inspiration for this card as she loves purple and flowers.

The card starts with a Thick Whisper White card base of 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".  The next layer of Whisper White card stock is slightly smaller at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and is embossed with the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF.  The tulips are stamped in Wisteria Wonder with two step stamping where the background image is stamped off first.  The leaves and stems are stamped in Wild Wasabi.  Since it's spring - or suppose to be spring I definitely like using the Subtles color collection.  The layers for the tulips are Whisper White (3" x 4 1/4") and Wisteria Wonder (3 1/8" x 4 3/8").  The pot for this card is out of Crumb Cake card stock and also using the Basket Weave embossing folder.  The shape comes from the Coffee Cups Framelits dies!  The sentiment is from the You're Inspiring stamp set.  All the layers are popped with Stampin' Dimensionals except the Whisper White tulip layer to the Wisteria Wonder layer.

I hope you enjoyed my card!

ICS Blog Hop - Heartfelt Blooms

Woo Hoo it's the first Wednesday of the month you know what that means RIGHT? ICS Blog hop time!  Our theme this month is The Sale-A-Bration continues so we are once again showcasing items that are available for FREE with a $50 or $100 order. We added a fun little color challenge this month too, each project can use any/all or a combo of the following colors!

I decided to use the Heartfelt Blooms Sale-A-Bration stamp set which is one of my favorite stamp sets of all time!!  I needed a thank you card and this set is a great one for very elegant yet simple cards of all types.  This is inspired by my friend and fellow blogger Audra.

The Heartfelt Blooms stamp set is stamped in Dapper Denim ink on Crumb Cake cardstock  (4" x 5 1/4).  It is matted on Night of Navy cardstock  (4 1/8” x 5 3/8”) popped with Stampin' Dimensionals on Dapper Denim card base (11” x 4 1/4” scored at 5 1/2”).  The sentiment is also in the same stamp set.  It is stamped in Night of Navy on Crumb Cake and cut out using the Pretty Label punch and popped.  The Night of Navy gingham ribbon is attached to the back of the layers, cut in the middle, and then tied.  This is a new way to me way that I learned recently for ribbon!  A glue dot is used to hold the knot down.

I hope you enjoyed my card!

ICS Blog Hop - Tutti Frutti

Woo Hoo it's the first Wednesday of the month you know what that means RIGHT? ICS Blog hop time! Our theme this month is A Recipe For Sale-A-Bration!  I am so excited because it starts today!  I focused on the Tutti Frutti suite that coordinates with the Sale-A-Bration item Tutti Frutti Cards & Envelopes (147242).

This is the first card I have made with this suite and I already love it!  The fruit pieces are small but very nicely detailed!  The card base is the Sale-A-Bration item.  The next layer is new Tutti-Frutti DSP 3" x 4 1/4" and attached to the card base with snail adhesive.  The top layer is Whisper White cardstock slightly smaller than the DSP at 2 7/8" x 4 1/8".  The bowl is Daffodil Delight ink which coordinates with the cardbase.  I stamped it again on a post-it note to create a mask for the strawberries.  The little strawberries are then stamped in Real Red ink.  I stamped a few and then added the leaves topper in Lemon Lime Twist ink.  I continued this process to fill the bowl.  The sentiment was also stamped in Daffodil Delight.  This layer was popped in Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope you enjoyed my card!
