Fresh Fruit Cards

I was needing a thank you & birthday card, so I wanted to use a summer stamp set.  I was inspired by the layout in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.

The multiple fruit set used these inks....
Peach - Peekabo Peach & Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzaz
Flowers - Daffodil Delight & Crushed Curry
Strawberry - Watermelon Wonder & Real Red, Cucumber Crush

For the peach only card the peach was in Peekabo Peach & Tangerine Tango with leaves in Cucumber Crush.

OSAT Blog Hop - Shabby Chic

Welcome to the One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop for July with a theme of Shabby Chic!  If you are hopping along with us, I hope you enjoyed the great projects from Lori!

This is definitely not my style of stamping, so it was fun to get out of my comfort zone with this theme.  I decided to create a card and a coloring book for my project.

After a lot of time figuring out my colors this card was finally put together.

This card features the Jar of Love stamp set and coordinating Everyday Jars Framelit Dies.  The card base is Soft Sky.  The Stampin' Up! Hardwood stamp was stamped in Soft Sky ink, and then an Aquapainter was used in Pear Pizzaz for the lines between the boards.  A sponge dauber was then used to add Crumb Cake ink around the edges.  The jar (and water in the jar) is Soft Sky ink on Soft Sky cardstock. I used a small piece of adhesive to stick the jar to the background in order to stamp the stems and leaves in Pear Pizzaz. The jar was carefully removed from the Hardwood piece and the additional stems (Pear Pizzaz ink on Pear Pizzaz cardstock were adhered using Fine Tip glue).  The jar was then permanently adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The bow is Blushing Bride ink on Blushing Bride cardstock.  The flowers also our in the same stamp set.  The flowers are made out of Very Vanilla cardstock.  The base part of the flowers are Blushing Bride and the accents are in Flirty Flamingo.  The flowers were attached with Glue Dots.  The jar, stems, and flowers were all cut out by their respective framelits.  The whole piece is then popped with Stampin' Dimensionals against the Soft Sky card base.

A little stamping was needed inside the card as well.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! Watercolor Words stamp set.  It was stamped in Crumb Cake ink.

It was a challenge to figure out what to do for a project this month because I wanted to do something totally different & unique.  A friend and fellow demonstrator recently showed me a coloring book that she created.  Here's her video about it.

The cover was very similar to the card.  The only difference is I stamped the Hardwood stamp on Whisper White and then matted it in Soft Sky.  The book itself is 6" x 6" and then the inside pages are 5 13/16" x 5 13/16".  I used my Bind-It-All for the first time for this project to make the holes and then bind it.  I only have about 12 pages in this book so I used 1/2" binding coil.  The front & back covers are made from the Designer Series Paper (DSP) cardboard cut at 6"x6" and using Tear & Tape I adhered Whisper White cardstock to the back and front of each cover.

Here's a couple of the inside pages where I stamped the images to be colored in Memento Black ink.

I hope you have enjoyed my card & project!  Your next stop in the hop is from my friend, Tina!
