OSAT Blog Hop - Let It Snow

Welcome! It's OSAT blog hop time!  If you are hopping along with us - I am sure you enjoyed my friend Tina's card & projectOur theme is Let It Snow!  Here in the Midwest we haven't even hit a freezing temperature yet, but Christmas will be here before we know it!

For my card and project I focused on the Warmth & Cheer suite from Stampin' Up!.

The card used Cherry Cobbler as it's card base.  The top Crumb Cake cardstock is 3 1/2"x4" and is embossed with the marvelous Cable Knit Dynamic embossing folder.  The bottom piece of DSP from the Warmth & Cheer stack is 2 1/8" x 4".  A strip of washi tape from the same suite connects the two pieces.  I then used some of the Kraft Rope Trim for behind the sentiment.  I took apart the trim in order to get some individual strands.

The sentiment is from the Wrapped in Warmth stamp set using a Basic Black marker to only get part of the sentiment.  The Layer Circles Framelits were used for the Whisper White & Garden Green layers.  I had to include another of the great sentiments from this set on the inside of the card along with a cute little tree in the background.

My project coordinates with my card!  I created this project for our recent OnStage Local where I was able to attend the event in Kansas City.

These plastic ornaments can be found at any big box craft store.  I found a whole container of 25 of them for a good price on sale.  I cut 1/2" strips from the Warmth & Cheer DSP stack.  It took about 1 1/2 pieces of 6"x6" DSP to fill the ornament.  After cutting the 1/2" strips I wrapped them around my piercing tool to create the curly pieces.  Whisper White Bakers Twine is then added in order to be able to hang the ornament.

To create the box I looked online for a few ideas.   I then customized the size of the box in order to hold the ornament with a small piece of tissue paper wrapped around it.  For the top of the box I used cardstock in reds and greens the size is 5 3/16” x 5 3/16” and score at 1” on all 4 sides.  The box base is 8 ¼” x 8 ¼” and score at 2 5/8” on all 4 sides. Create tabs/flaps for both the base and top.  Do this by trimming small pieces off the corners as seen in this photo.

For the top I only did this first step for creating the tabs.  For the box base I also trimmed the tabs in half. The photo below is rotated 90 degrees to show this step.

When you are all done trimming adhere Tear & Tape for base and the top.

The tag for the box was created with thick Whisper White cardstock accented with the Banner Triple Punch.  The sentiment from the Wrapped in Warmth stamp set is inked in Cherry Cobbler and the Kraft Rope Trim (24") is tied around the box.

I hope you have enjoyed my card & project!  Your next stop in the hop is from Sara!

Upcoming November Classes

Friday, November 11th at 10am – Stitched with Cheer Project Kit
Including sewing/stitching on cards is super popular right now!  Stampin' Up! came out with a great card kit for this for Christmas!  In this class you will make one each of the three card designs in this kit for $6 total.  Space is limited to 5 people for this class and RSVPs are due by Wednesday, November 9th at noon.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Choose between Sunday, November 20th 1-5pm and/or Monday, November 21st 10am-2pm
 – Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack
Christmas is quickly approaching and November is the perfect time to work on your Christmas cards!  Since we didn't get to have a Christmas card class in October - this one in November will make up for it!  :) During this class we will be making cards using Christmas sets out of the 2016 Stampin' Up! Holiday & Annual Catalogs.

This class is a little different where YOU get to decide how many sets of cards you are going to make, so here are the details.
  • I will have somewhere between 3-5 different Christmas card designs which I will share in advance of this class.  My goal is to share them with you by Saturday, November 12th.
  • You will let me know in advance how many sets (a set is 5 cards) you want to make of the different designs.  Your amount must be in increments of 5 cards (1 set).
  • An example of what it can be is: 1 set (5 cards) of 1 design, 1 set of another design, and 1 set of a third design for a total of 15 cards.
  • An example of what it can't be is: 2 cards of 1 designs, 2 cards of another design, and 1 card of a third design.
  • The maximum amount with the four hours (per day) you can make will probably be 20 cards which would be $40.
  • Each set of 5 cards (& envelopes) is $10.
  • This event will be offered on two different days.  Feel free to RSVP for one day or both (if you wanna make lots of cards!).
  • You have to let me know how many sets of which design(s) you want to make no later than noon on Monday, November 14th.
  • While I'm not requiring prepayment for this event - please know that with your RSVP and card sets choices you are committing to the event.  There is a lot of materials and prep time especially for this class. If an emergency arises and you can't make it please let me know.  We will figure out an alternate time for you to make your cards.
  • For each set you make you will receive one ticket that will be entered into a door prize drawing to be drawn at the conclusion of the Monday event.

There will also be small gifts, treats, tags, packaging classes coming in December!

ICS Blog Hop The Season of Gratitude

Welcome! It's ICS blog hop time!  Our theme is ‪the Season of Gratitude!  We are using the awesome October Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin as the base for our projects.  I decided to do something that could be used for table settings at Thanksgiving.

I cut the adhesive top part off the envelope to use as the base of my project.  On the envelope pouch in Chocolate Chip I stamped the background stamp three times.  The die cut leaves were sponged in Chocolate Chip and then popped with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I then used a couple die cuts also in the kit for the name and added a few sequins for an accent.  There were card bases included in this kit, so I cut one in half to create a card to write the things I am grateful for at Thanksgiving.  The sentiment was also stamped in Chocolate Chip.  I used a hole punch and some green twine (from the Paper Pumpkin kit), so it can be hung up on a bulletin board, fridge, etc.

Thanks for stopping by my post in the ICS blog hop!  The next stop in your hop is Jennifer.

OSAT Blog Hop - Birthdays Bash!

Welcome to the One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop for September with a theme of Birthdays Bash!  If you are hopping along with us, I hope you enjoyed the great projects from Jeanna!

For my card and project I decided to use some new Stampin' Up! holiday catalog DSP for non-Christmas.  My big brother has a birthday coming up next month, so I thought he would like a card and gift card envelope using this paper.

The card base is Thick Whisper White, the black mat layer is 4 1/8" x 5 3/8", and the Crumb Cake layer is 4" x 5 1/4".  The Crumb Cake cardstock was run through the Big Shot and embossed with the Woodland TIEF.  The sentiment is from Guy Greetings and stamped in Memento Black ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.  It was cutout using the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies and popped with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I then used the Leaflets Framelits Dies to cut out various leaves out of the Warmth & Cheer DSP.  A little bit of linen thread was used to finish off this card!

My project is a gift card envelope.  It also used the Warmth & Cheer DSP and Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies.  The little circles on the envelope are in Basic Black.  I punched a whole in them and the DSP to put the copper brads through.  I then used the Leaflets Framelits Dies to cut out a leaf out of the Warmth & Cheer DSP.  The sentiment is from Guy Greetings and stamped in Memento Black ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.  It was cutout using the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies  I punched a little whole in the tag.  Linen thread was then used to close up the envelope and attached the leaf & sentiment.

I hope you have enjoyed my card & project!  Your next stop in the hop is from my friend, Anna!

ICS Blog Hop Technique Time

Welcome! It's ICS blog hop time! Our theme is ‪Technique Time!  I decided to do the ghosting technique!  It is where you first stamp your image in Whisper White craft ink and then stamp your image on top in your regular stamp ink color.

A good friend of mine has a birthday upcoming later this week, so I thought her birthday card would be perfect for this ghosting technique as I know she loves Fall.  The card base is Very Vanilla cardstock, the mat layer is Cajun Craze at 3 1/2" x 4 3/4", and the Crumb Cake layer that I stamped on is 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".  The sentiment is Very Vanilla cardstock size 3/4" x 3 1/4", and the Happy Birthday is from the Balloon Celebration stamp set stamped in Cajun Craze ink and popped with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The leaves from the Vintage Leaves stamp set are first stamped in Whisper White craft ink on your Crumb Cake cardstock.   I then stamped over them in Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and Crushed Curry.  My one tip is to make sure you clean off your stamp when stamping the Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and Crushed Curry if it gets Whisper White craft ink on it, so that you don't get Whisper White craft ink on your other ink pads.

Thanks for stopping by my post in the ICS blog hop!  The next stop in your hop is the fantastic is Terri with the Triple Time Stamping Technique.
