OSAT Blog Hop - Back to School

one stamp at a time

Welcome to the One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop for August - Back to School!  I love this group of paper crafters that get to together for this hop every month!  If you haven't seen the previous blog hops by this group I would encourage to go back and check them out.  I hope you enjoyed the marvelous projects in the previous blog.

I cannot believe it is already back to school time!  In our area the kids actually go back to school today.  We don't have any kids in our house, so my niece & nephew going back to school inspired me this month.  I decided to make a card & project that could be used by a teacher, to give to a teacher, or even at home.

school card & large clothespin

The Stampin' Up! Whisper White craft ink was used to mimic chalk on a chalkboard on the card.  The letters are from the Larger Than Life Stampin' Up! stamp set.  They are my favorite letters to use for cards and banners.  The new & marvelous tree builder punch was used for the apples after stamping them from the new Stampin' Up! fundraising stamp set for Ronald McDonald House called Sprinkles of Life. The sentiment is from the Endless Thanks stamp set and fussy cut out to adhere to the card.  Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, and Daffodil Delight were the color scheme for both the card & large clothespin project.

Further detail of the apples in Real Red.

I have recently really had a fun time making these large clothespins.  You can find them at most any big box large craft store for just a few bucks.  They are simple to make with just a bit of mod podge to adhere the paper to the wooden clothespin.  I then put a layer of the mod podge over the paper, let it dry, and repeated to have three layers.  My idea was to make one for each of the kids in a classroom, home, etc. as these can be personalized with the Stampin' Up! alphabet rotary stamp.  These can be used to display a school photo of the child.  Enjoy my college graduation photo!  :)

I hope you have enjoyed my back to school card & project!  I hope you have fun continuing through the rest of the blogs on our hop!  The next one up is my friend, Tina
