Stampin' Up! Inspire. Create. Share. Roommate Gifts
I have just returned from Salt Lake City, Utah from the Stampin' Up! demonstrator convention called Inspire. Create. Share. To keep cost down and to have a fun time, I roomed with three other ladies. We represented Missouri, Texas, Michigan, and Alabama. Part of the fun of convention is bringing gifts for your roommates.
Here are the large clothespins that I made to display a photo or card.
I used the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack as the base that I applied to the large clothespin with Mod Podge. I think sponged multiple layers (drying in between) of Mod Podge over the paper. Flowers and butterflies using the Stampin' Up! punches: Bitty Butterfly, Elegant Butterfly, Pansy, and Petite Petals. They are accented with rhinestones, pearls, and ribbon. Come back tomorrow for more sharing of projects/cards from convention!

OSAT Blog Hop - Christmas in July
Welcome to the
One Stamp At a Time Blog Hop for July - Christmas in July! I hope you
enjoyed the marvelous projects in the previous blog.
Stampin' Up! changed things with this year's annual catalog and included a few Christmas sets to tide us over until the Holiday Catalog. This gave me a few stamp sets to choose from for this blog. I decided to got away from the traditional green & red for Christmas which was fun & something I don't do often. Without further delay here is my card & project for this month.
This card was a fun one to make as I combined a number of techniques/styles.....embossing resist, sponging, and surprise fold.
This shows an alternate ink combination for sponging of: Night of Navy, Marina Mist, and Soft Sky.
The Curvy Keepsake thinlet has become one of my favorites by Stampin' Up! and is a must have for Christmas projects! I decided to make a luminary out of vellum paper embossed with white embossing powder. The Festival of Trees stamp set was used and again featured the Gorgeous Grunge background stamp as snow. I used some Whisper White cardstock to reinforce the bottom of it as I put a battery operated tea light in it.
The next blog in our Christmas and July hop is the very, very talented Holly!

July's Card Class
Here are the full views of the cards from my July class!
These are the cards in more detail.
This is inspired by Captain America and is great for a teen boy's birthday. It uses the Circle and Star Framelits. The color combination used is Pacific Point, Real Read, and Whisper White. The stamp sets featured are Gorgeous Grunge and Guy Greetings. The new Washi Label punch is used to cut out the sentiment.
This card features the technique of emboss resist where I used a background stamp from Gorgeous Grunge with VersaMark and white embossing powder. The card base is in Melon Mambo. Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, and Daffodil Delight were sponged and then the ink was wiped off with a paper towel. The sentiment was Teeny Tiny Wishes cut out in the Washi Label punch.
The quarter fold technique used for this card was a new one for me. The Pacific Point and Basic Grey are the featured colors and a new Stampin' Up! paper stack - Pretty Petals creates a nice accent.
